Oh hey, I've used this to monitor what's going on inside of some containerized apps. In my experience so far, it's one of the more easy to set up APM platforms - doesn't have too many moving parts and runs pretty well.
The only thing that I didn't particularly enjoy was running ElasticSearch since that made the overall solution somewhat heavyweight, however there are alternative storage options available: https://skywalking.apache.org/docs/main/next/en/setup/backen...
Honestly, for most of the limited scale setups out there, MySQL/MariaDB or PostgreSQL makes a decent amount of sense and are also pretty easy to run.
