I am curious if this has been studied at length by psychiatrists. Perhaps I am just projecting my own dread at the idea but I would imagine this would be novel for a while but then reality would set that this is fake and people would experience the death of their loved one all over again. Would this give people closure? Does the simulation provide a simulated death for those that did not experience the loss of their loved one in person? Would people end up more depressed as they are reliving the death all over again? Is there a subconscious desire to experience this? On a darker note, would this lead to simulations of death for people that are still alive?
